The simplest way o achieve balance is through symmetry. when each object on the right has an identical counterpart on the left, relative to size, placement, shape and colour they create a mirror image of each other and are equal in optical weight. Symmetrical arrangements evoke feelings of stability, calm and permanence. They are appropriate for traditional, formal and conservative areas.

BALANCED INTERIORS

Balance is an equal distribution of weight. Balance can also be achieved when dissimilar objects are placed on each side if there is an underlying optical equality. Alignment and visual weight are key to creating balance. The principla of balance is concerned with the optical weight of objects in relation to each other. some objects appear heavier than others through their size, shape, tone, colour or texture.
